Hello friends! My name is Courtney Heathcock, and I am the writer behind the blog. I am 26 years old. I am married to my handsome husband, Brad. We got married in July 2017. We have a corgi named Winston and a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mixed puppy named Bodie. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Social Work and Psychology. I am currently pursuing my graduate degree in Victim Services from Sam Houston State University. I work for an anti-human trafficking non-profit called Rescue Her as the head Advocate for our long-term Empower Program. I am all about encouragement, loving people, seeking joy, and being raw and vulnerable.
Blogging is something that I have dreamed about for years now. I never felt adequate enough, important enough, or good enough to actually invest in it. After lots of prayers, patience, and encouragement from my amazing husband, I decided to give it a try! This blog focuses on faith, relationships, marriage, encouragement, + everything real and in between. The internet is a place full of negativity, comparison, insecurity, and isolation. I wanted to create a space where I can be open, real, and raw with you. Hopefully, we can help one another navigate through this wild thing called life.
I also like my coffee beige, my baths bubbly, and my naps long. In my spare time, you can find me snuggling my husband and pup, watching Parks and Rec, eating cookie dough out of the tub, and browsing the aisles of Target. I also refer to myself as a joy seeker and try to find the joy in everything life throws at me and inspiring others to do the same.
Most importantly, I am a lover of Jesus and He has radically changed my life. I once was very lost and now I am a product of Grace. I hope that He is who you see in every post here on the blog.
