Meet My People: Jordan Wolfe

Incase you’re new here, or just forgot, I launched a series called Meet My People Mondays. Every other Monday you will get to hear from one of my closest friends. They will share about themselves, me, and our friendship. I truly believe there is no better way to know me than to know the people around me. They are going to be just as real and as honest as I am. I want you guys to get to know the people I love, while also getting to see me from one of my friend’s point of view.

Meet My People Mondays: Jordan Wolfe

Jordan Wolfe is a gem of a friend. I don’t know how I would have survived my college years without her wisdom and guidance. I have never met someone who cares for her friends like Jordan does. Jordan would answer my calls at any hour of the night and allowed me to vent and even invited me over most of the time. She puts others first and always makes herself available for her friends. I have spent countless hours crying to Jordan and her just being an amazing friend, listening ear, and provided advice when asked. She’s getting her Masters in Counseling right now and it makes SO MUCH sense! She always makes me laugh and reminds me take life a little less seriously. Jordan is the type of friends you spend hours with and don’t even realize it. I have loved all of our adventures together from sleepovers, chinese food runs, scary movie nights because we have no one else to watch them with, and drives to visit all the humane societies in the area. All in all, Jordan is an amazing, godly, wise, caring friend to have! I love you Jordan!

The way this will work is…I asked her a series of questions, some about her and some about me, and I copied them word for word into this document. All of my input, if any, will be italicized and in parenthesis. This is how it will be with each person. So, let’s dive in:

How old are you? 26

Married? Yes

Pets? 1 black nub-tailed Australian Labrador named Sadie

Kids? None for now

Describe yourself in 5 words?

Focused, complimentary, thankful, kind and occasionally tacky (I love this list!)

What is a fun fact about you?

I can dislocate and turn my wrist away from my arm (my go to party trick lol) (HOW HAVE I NEVER SEEN THIS?!)

What are you reading right now?

Text books and a book called The Body Keeps Score by Bessel van der Kolk

What is something God’s been speaking to you right now?

What was the best thing that happened to you this past year?

Started my Grad program at TWU

What’s your favorite animal? And why?

Silver Backed Gorilla. They are terrifyingly strong and incredible animals.

What do you do for a living?

Well… I cater to people who own private jets at the Denton Municipal Airport (not glamorous, I promise)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I always hesitate at the “5 year” question. God willing, I’ll still be pursuing my education and loving on my husband.

What was the best year of your life? And why?

That’s a tough one… probably our second year of marriage. Seth and I adopted Sadie and we were falling in love with our new friends in Denton. (Hey! That’s me!)

What is your favorite way to pass the time?

I love doing errands with Seth.

What is your personality type?

Let’s go with a lion / chameleon hybrid. If that makes sense.

What is your love language?

Quality time accompanied by physical touch

What are your strengths?

I love being a student in real life and in academics (I love this!)

What are your weaknesses?

Remembering names and occasionally saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Who is your hero/role model?

Oh man… I think i’ve found a role model in my boss, Maggie. She is the most composed person I‘ve ever met. My husband is my everyday role model. He has an amazing amount of discipline that I hope rubs off on me some day.

What is your dream job?

Private practice counselor

What is the best advice you’ve ever given/heard?

The anthem my dad speaks over my life. When everything is said and done all we have left are the people we’ve chosen to love and whom love us. Treat your people well and cherish them. (THIS IS SO GOOD!!!)

What is your favorite bible verse? And why?

It’s less of a verse and more of a passage. The story of the sinful woman who washed and anointed Jesus’s feet with her tears and her hair. Luke 7:36-50. I feel like this woman on a regular basis when I meet Jesus in my quite time or during worship. It always chokes me up even thinking about it now.

If you could share anything with the people on the blog what would you say?

What is life without the people we love? If I could share anything it would be to know your people. If you possess the power to do so, meet their needs without hesitation. Give them love, kind words, and share with them all the reasons you find them beautiful and special. We are all better off without hoarding these things.

How did you meet Courtney?

You know those people who just become fixtures in your life and you have no idea how or when it happened? That’s that way it is for Courtney. I have no idea how we met I just know one day she was there and every day since has been precious to me.

What was your first impression of her?

She is infectious! People just gravitate to her vibe and isms. Most people would say they can’t put their finger on why this is, but I know it’s God. He shines bright through her.

What’s your favorite thing about Courtney?

Her smile. It’s what makes her shine the most.

How has Courtney impacted your life?

She is what has allowed our group of friends to be so vulernable and open with each other. She embodies connection and the desire to be known and that is also infectious.

If you could describe Courtney in one word, what would it be?

She is one big S*P*A*R*K of connection and joy

Which blog post has been your favorite so far? And why?

Oh man…I’ve loved reading them all. I couldn’t possibly pick one. The themes are beautiful. I just love who Courtney is and this blog is her.

Share a memory or story of you and Courtney:

Youth Camp of 2015 was a RIOT! I swear we giggled a week straight. That was the birth of #comfortingcourtney . She would eventually fall to ground while we laughed and I would… comfort her. Lololololol

Anything else you would like to say about yourself or Courtney:

Keep on keepin on girlfriend. You’ve got so many sparks left to spark.

Jordan is the best! You can follow her for pictures of her and her friends, her cute dog, Sadie, her hubby, Seth, and the occasional study session selfie!
